I've Saved $1000+ Using Raise.com
Updated: Jun 12, 2024
After I learned how to save money online shopping by making it a habit to always check for coupon codes, I was introduced to Raise.com which allows you to purchase gift cards at a discount. You use them instead of using a coupon code that would give you a discount on that purchase.
So, a 10% off Raise.com gift card purchase and a 10% off coupon code = The same savings.
So far, I’ve saved $1,000+ by making it a habit to check Raise.com for gift cards from the store for which I’m about to checkout online.
REAL-LIFE EXAMPLE
Here is a look at the user experience when purchasing a discounted gift card via the Raise.com app. I wanted to go to Noah’s Bagels the other day and so, instinctively, checked Raise.com for discounted gift cards or Raise Cash back opportunities. I found a good amount on Raise.com that were for 1% off. Not that existing, but I’ll take it - Added two to my cart.
The biggest benefit of this particular purchase was that I was able to use my $4.12 Raise Cash balance. So, for $20 in gift cards, I only spent $15.68.
CONVENIENT ORDER HISTORY
You can easily see your gift card order history and how much you saved on each order in the My Orders section.
You can access all the gift cards you’ve purchased from Raise in the Wallet or My Cards section. You can keep track of the balance on each of your cards and see them laid out before you:
SCHEDULE GIFTS FOR FRIENDS
I haven’t used this feature yet, but they have a My Scheduled Gifts section where you can see all the gift cards you’ve pre-scheduled for delivery to your favorite people. You can easily see all the gift cards you’ve ordered and the amount of money you saved on each order.
REWARDS FOR TELLING FRIENDS
They have an awesome referral program where you and your friend get $5 in Raise Cash after your friend places their first order. You can use Raise Cash towards more gift card purchases.
GET THAT RAISE CASH
Raise Cash is like a loyalty program where you earn cash back on certain purchases at Raise.com. One way you can earn Raise Cash is by purchasing an exact amount vs a rounded out amount like $25 or $50. So, for example, if I’m about to check out at 1800flowers.com and check Raise.com first for discounted gift cards, I can enter the exact amount I see at checkout:
For a 1-800-Flowers order total of $116.35 with 15% Raise Cash back, you would earn $17.45 in Raise Cash!
SELL YOUR UNWANTED CARDS
Another feature which I have yet to try is your ability to sell gift cards you may not be interested in using.
Here is an example where I’m listing a $25 Sephora gift card to be sold on Raise.com. You enter the card amount and your desired selling price. Raise will show you how much of a percentage off the gift card will be shown to potential buyers on Raise.com. They will also show how much you’ll earn from selling the gift card with their 15% commission fee.
15% seems like a lot, but imagine some of those old gift cards just sitting for years? $25, that’s sitting doing absolutely nothing, or $20.40 that you can add to your high interest savings account that will at least grow overtime?
