1. Use a free service like Dovly. Dovly is a free credit repair service that helps identify any potential issues on your credit report, with helpful tools to help protect your credit and save money. If you have no credit, Dovly also helps with credit-building solutions.
2. Are you currently paying rent? Bilt Rewards is a wonderful service that allows renters to build rewards while paying rent. The great thing is they have a rent reporting option. This allows them to report your on-time payments to all 3 credit bureaus to help build credit history.
3. Self, unlike Bilt doesn’t allow you to earn rewards for paying rent, BUT their rent reporting is free! They will report to all 3 bureaus and can even verify payments made by Venmo, checks and more!
4. Experian Boost is another option for rent reporting. Your utility payments and streaming service payments can help boost your score as well.
5. Ask a family member who has good credit to add you as an authorized user. This is an easy way for a positive trade line to be added to your report, while taking advantage of your family members' credit limit. Just make sure to stay respectful and draw very clear usage guidelines with one another.
